We have a great group to take you on this tree top adventure. Our guides are well trained on the course and equipment, and know much about the local ecology. We are constantly learning and growing our knowledge to better serve you and make your time here both fun and educational. Here is a brief background of our guides.
Amber: Grew up around Beaumont and then graduated from Texas A&M University with degrees in Psychology and Recreation, Parks, and Tourism degree in 2006. She studied abroad in Queensland, Australia and then worked on an internship with the National Forest Service at Lincoln National Forest in Cloudcroft, NM. She is in her first season at Cypress Valley and is excited for many more. She wants to build a career in High and Low ropes course management, and hopes to always have a job outdoors.
Amy K: Graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in May 2005 with a BS in Biology and received her Masters in May 2008 from Texas State University for Environmental Geography. She loves snowboarding, reading, cooking, yoga, traveling, gymnastics, and being outside.
Andi: studied film in NYC after backpacking around Mexico, Europe, and Northern Africa for eight months. She loves photography, cheese, and old LP's.
Andrew: Is currently finishing his second semester at UTSA studying Mechanical Engineering. He plays intramural soccer, volleyball, ultimate frisbee, and football. His interest include wakeboarding, rock climbing, mountain biking, hiking, kayaking, and anything that gets him outdoors.
Bella: Is a California native who moved here last June. She is attending ACC and plans on transferring to either UT or University of Colorado in fall of 2009. She enjoys horse back riding, running, swimming, rock climbing, volleyball, singing, hanging out with family (especially when it's family game night), baking, knitting, and has recently taken up playing the guitar.
Brook: Senior at St. Edwards University, majoring in Health and Exercise Science. She plays soccer to St. Edwards and enjoys the outdoors.
Cale M: Is a second year geography major at the University of Texas-Austin. He loves anything and everything that puts sun on his face and fresh air in his lungs. Ask him about Parkour, motorcycle riding, environmentalism, and just about anything else!
Cedric: From an early age, Cedric has wanted to work in the outdoor industry. His youthful summers were spent traveling with his father to archeological digs and exploring the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas. Many of his current pastimes are outdoors, such as climbing, mountain biking, hiking, backpacking, and camping. He also used to work in advertising and graphic design, but has since come to his senses and is past all that nonsense.
Cortnie: Graduated from Texas State with a Master's in Recreation, Sports, and Leisure Management and has a BA from Schreiner University in History. She can always be found outdoors or doing improvisational theater in Austin. Her favorite things are sewing machines, comedy, and Tivo.
Dustin: Recently graduated from UT with a degree in advertising, minor in business and is a creative sequence graduate. He loves activities that get him outdoors and has a passion for traveling the world.
Elie: A freshman at Gonzaga University in Washington majoring in education/teaching. His interested include: soccer, wake boarding, slalom skiing and surfing.
Eric: Loves wakeboarding, surfing, and basically any other outdoor activity. He likes to travel different places with his family and meet new people where ever he goes. He loves BBQ!
Iker: A graduate of St. Edward's University; majored in Marketing. He is passionate about all sports and loves playing golf when he gets the chance. Iker enjoys watching comedy movies, traveling and learning about other cultures, and spending time with family & friends.
Jason: A recent graduate of UT, he studied geography and biology with a focus on environmental studies. He enjoys the outdoors, animals, and is pursuing a career in wildlife management.
John: A junior at UT Austin, John is studying biology. He enjoys the outdoors and plays with a band in Austin.
Liz L: Headed into her third year at the University of Texas in the School of Communication. She enjoys kayaking, lacrosse, traveling, art, and has a passion for animals.
Margaret: Graduated from UT in December 2008 and has since been busily rediscovering everything that is good about life, like the amazing pleasures of sleep, the glories of reading, spending time with the people she loves, and wandering around outdoors with friends. In the not too distant future she hopes to travel and volunteer around the world.
Naeole: A recent graduate from UT Austin with a degree is in Biology and a concentration in Ecology. Naeole likes spending time in the outdoors, hiking and bird watching.
Nicole: Grew up in Arkansas and studied Sociology and Technical Theatre at ATU. She love climbing, mountain biking, kayaking, canoeing, yoga, and being outside. Her aspiration is to climb Denali, and to not kill at least one house plant.
Shanae: Graduates May 2009 with a degree in Sociology from the University of Texas at Austin. She enjoys watching movies, writing, lifting weights, and dancing. She plans on attending Colorado University at Boulder in the Fall 2010 semester to work towards her doctorate in Clinical Psychology under Marriage and Family Therapy, and eventually become certified as a Sex Therapist and Public Health Educator.
